Matcha Mug Cake
Quick microwave dessert.
Ingredients
- 4 tbsp (30g) all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp (20g) granulated sugar
- 1 tsp (2g) matcha powder (ceremonial grade)
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- 3 tbsp (45ml) milk
- 2 tbsp (30ml) neutral oil (or melted butter)
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- Optional: 1 tbsp white chocolate chips or nut pieces
Instructions
- Mix dry ingredients: In a microwave-safe mug, whisk together flour, sugar, matcha powder, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- Add wet ingredients: Add milk, oil, and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth and lump-free.
- Add-ins (optional): Fold in white chocolate chips or nuts if using.
- Microwave: Microwave on high for 70–90 seconds (oven wattage may vary). Cake should be set on top but still soft and moist inside.
- Cool & enjoy: Let cool for 1–2 minutes. Enjoy warm straight from the mug!
Makes: 1 mug cake
Dr. Kesha's Tip: Watch closely — overcooking can make the cake dry. The center should be soft and slightly gooey!
