Ingredients
- 1 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup (150g) brown sugar, packed
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp matcha powder (ceremonial grade)
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 cups (255g) white chocolate chunks or chips
Instructions
- Cream butter & sugars: In a large bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla. Mix well.
- Mix dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk flour, matcha powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Combine: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Mix until just combined. Fold in white chocolate chunks.
- Chill (optional): Chill dough for at least 30 minutes for thicker, chewier cookies.
- Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Scoop dough onto a lined baking sheet. Bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges are set and centers look slightly soft.
- Cool & enjoy: Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Enjoy!
Makes: 12–14 cookies
Dr. Kesha's Tip: For extra chewiness, slightly underbake! Best enjoyed the same day.
